I’m very disappointed with the decision of killing off Jack. Honestly, even though it wouldn’t be the same, I’d rather have another actor replace daniel. It wouldn’t be the same, but I would prefer that much better than this because They have been on this amazing love journey and I think us ehartied feel that their love story has been thrown away. I feel that they really were meant to be, and to have this amazing love story die, it breaks my heart.

I have watched When Calls the Heart from the very beginning of the series. It has been an uplifting escape from the harsh realities of life. I am angry at the way they have ended season 5 and don’t intend to tune in any longer! This is NOT what many of us tune into Hallmark Channel for. There was absolutely nothing uplifting about this ending – it was a very disappointing downer. Better script writing could have eased Jack out in a better way than this painful shock to your fans.

Guess what Hearties–maybe we CAN get on board with the terrible new Hope Valley life sans Jack….BECAUSE look at the awesome work Daniel Lissing is creating: https://parade.com/663817/rielyhaven/exclusive-when-calls-the-hearts-daniel-lissing-talks-the-answers-and-chocolate/ ….It looks fantastic to me. I know nothing about the actor’s personal lives, but if he needed to leave to go produce such profound new work then we’ve got to be okay with that. I still wish Elizabeth was NOT prego–my vote would have gone to Rosemary for that–but it is what it is. Let’s see more of Lee and Rosemary and let’s get Carson and Faith hitched. Let’s see little Jack Thornton or baby girl Thornton running around. Let’s wait 2 or 3 seasons and see Elizabeth fall in love again with hopefully a MUCH shorter courtship and let’s have NO talk about her “SOUL” be taken as part of the wedding vows–LOVED Jack’s vow so much—Hey–it’s really the best show on TV. I wish Jack was still on it because we were “cheated”–totally think viewers should have gotten to see more of the Thornton’s lives together–house/marriage/see them work out problems together/children TOGETHER…Total awful thing to do to viewers, but hey–the guy has to do what the guy has to do [in real life] and I loved that “Answers” trailer. VERY COOL. 🙂

I don’t have any social media and have found this website to post a comment. I told my six kids going into this show that Jack is probably dead and Elizabeth will be pregnant which is the “positive way” in which the season will end. For many reasons I hate that that is how this has been written. I know you tried to do the best you could to wrap up the season and make it joyful, but I was NOT feeling it at all. You should have made Rosemary pregnant and say if she has a boy she will name him Jack. Honestly, I hated this ending and didn’t find it at all satisfying. I wish you hadn’t made Elizabeth pregnant. This show has been important to me and my family. I think Daniel Lissing should have committed to more time on this show.

I totally agree. No baby for Elizabeth. Do they think a pregnancy makes us feel better about Daniel leaving? NO. The show was a downer all the way. Not sure if I will continue to watch. There was not enough married life for the Thorntons.

In this afternoon’s Facebook Live, Daniel Lissing shared that he decided to leave the show. Lori Loughlin shared the process the producers and writers went through determining how to handle his departure. And Erin Krakow discussed Elizabeth’s journey through the her grief last night, If you are on Facebook, I hope you will watch the Facebook Live video on Hallmark Channel USA’s Facebook Page. It will stay up there. They provided many answers and spoke to Hearties about our concerns. And Lori assured us that the sadness of last night’s episode will not continue in season 6.

So sad gotta bring jack back it just isnt right 😭

I know! We Hearties are all so sad about Jack. But Daniel Lissing announced on the Facebook Live on Hallmark Channel USA’s Facebook Page today that he decided to leave the show. So, sadly, this was the only way the writers determined they could deal with his departure.

I am so disappointed at the implication that Jack is dead. We’ve been waiting since the middle of season 4 for Jack to return to Hope Valley for good. It’s been a long wait and now this.

    • If Daniel is off, we hope you’ll hang in there with us to find out why! All of us Hearties have so many concerns & questions! We’ve been assured that the answers to our burning questions will be answered in the season finale this Sunday night and on Monday in the first-ever, post-season finale Facebook Live with Brian Bird, Lori Loughlin, Erin Krakow, and Daniel Lissing on the Hallmark Channel USA Facebook page at 6PM Eastern/5PM Central/4PM Mountain/3PM Pacific.

It can’t be!!!!We wait so long for Jack and Elizabeth to get marry!! And tonight they end the show with a Mount in telling Elizabeth Jack is die???? Come on it just be ,not for the LOVE THEY HAD FOR ONE ANOTHER!!!IM SPEECHLESS!!!!!!!!😧😧😧😧😧😧😧

I agree. I honestly think that dragging out Jack & Elizabeth’s courtship that long was not historically accurate. It wasn’t normal for a couple like that to court so long before engagement/marriage. And when they finally get married Jack dies? Come on. This was my favorite show until the most recent episode. That’s just bad writing that will cause the loss of a lot of fans.

When Calls the Heart is my families favorite series. We have watched When Calls the Heart on Netflix 3 times and starting on the 4th. We are waiting, impatiently, to see the rest of the seasons. When will it be available on Netflix? Thank you for producing and sponsoring this series. Love, love, love it.

    • Lori Pearson

In past years, previous seasons When Calls the Heart has been made available on Netflix shortly before the newest season premieres. So it should be available late this year or early next year. 😊

Yes, I totally agree! What I did was buy season five and six on Amazon! They have all the seasons out so far, including bonus features! 😀
