Hearties are reunited with lovebirds Elizabeth Thatcher (Erin Krakow) and Jack Thornton (Daniel Lissing) in the Season 2 premiere of
“When Calls the Heart,” and, for once, everything seems to be right with Coal Valley and its deserving, yet troubled, townspeople.
The wives of the town win the trial against the conniving Henry Gowen (Martin Cummins), Abigail (Lori Loughlin) is introduced to the daughter-in-law she never knew she had and, most importantly, the town’s favorite school teacher and Mountie seem to be completely and utterly in love — at first.
Of course, just when everything was going right, something has to go wrong. Enter, Charles Kensington (Marcus Rosner).
Before the trial comes to a close, Elizabeth has to rush back home to visit her ailing mother. Being the gentleman that he his, Jack escorts her there. However, what Jack is greeted with a disapproving family and an unexpected suitor for Elizabeth. Charles is an old family friend who works with her father, and if her parents had it their way, their daughter would match up with someone more “suitable” for her standing in society.
