I have watched every episode of WCTH since day one. In my opinion, season 4 has been a horrible let down. Too much emphasis has been put on the kids and not enough on further developing the main character story lines. I used to make sure that I was home to watch every episode on Sunday night but
not so much so with season 4.
It has been a huge disappointment for me…..
Hopefully there will be some effort for Season 4 to be more historically accurate. The lack of attention to historical detail gets worse with each season. Aside from completely inappropriate hairstyles, clothing, speech patterns and male/female relations, this show pays zero attention to the fact that the action is supposed to be in Canada. Jack the Mountie is really just a substitute for a stereotypical version of an American sheriff. There are many historical inanities in this program (aside from the 1953 vintage Friendly Village tea cups at Abigails Cafe) that drive me crazy. The silliest is the notion of the “Northern Frontier” where Jack has to go to fight against the gun runners. Please. Look it up. There was no northern frontier unless you are counting the Arctic Ocean. And no gun runners. Ever. On the plus side? Good to see that Jack can actually ride a horse and that he has managed a neutral North American accent.
We LOVE When Calls The Heart! Thank you so much for producing such a fantastic program! We have purchased all three seasons on DVD and are anxious to catch the new season on TV.
What a blessing this has been to us :). It is nice to see a wholesome series with family values but also an exciting and interesting series.
